Strategic objectives

The KCLA Business Plan sets out nine key strategic objectives:

  • To create a plan whereby KCLA, through endorsement and proactive support, makes a significant, valuable and recognised contribution to the College's major fund-raising appeals to alumni, without necessarily becoming directly involved in the soliciting of donations
  • Through programmes agreed with the College, to raise the profile and increase the effectiveness of KCLA's contribution to the governance of the College, improving the mechanism whereby alumni views on major issues are sought, gathered and represented
  • To develop and implement a strategy to link and/or co-ordinate the alumni bodies and activities of King's with those of the merged institutions
  • To increase substantially KCLA's support for, and constructive involvement with, alumni sports clubs and societies, recognising these as as a key and major area of activity for male and female alumni
  • To develop a specific programme to build proactive and personal links with King's alumni within UK regions other than London      
  • To increase international alumni awareness of KCLA and, in co-operation with the Alumni Office, to raise the degree of personal and direct contact with them
  • To increase the level of practical involvement with and from KCLSU, recognising students as KCLA's future membership
  • To continue to develop a range of efficient channels and vehicles to ensure the closest co-operation between KCLA and the Alumni Office, recognising the clear interdependence that exists and the high degree of mutual benefit available from this relationship
